This blog resonates with me. My 30 year old daughter chose to go no contact with her dad, me (mom) and brother because of fabricated “emotional trauma” she allegedly experienced as a child in our home. She described the trauma as is making her play soccer, sending her to sleep over soccer camp, yelling at her to put her phone away at 11:00 pm on a school night, insisting that she make good grades, imposing curfew at midnight in high school, reducing her college allowance from $1000 a month to $800 (still while paying all tuition, rent and fees) and disapproving of her former meth user, unemployed, boyfriend. We haven’t seen/heard from/ her in two years. She admitted we bought her lots of nice things and treated her to European vacations, dinners, parties, events, limos for prom and expensive gowns, and we supported her at all soccer events but we still emotionally traumatized her because we didn’t agree with and support all her choices and hug her instead of parenting her.
